Book an Hour
Booking a paid hour of one-to-one technical help.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Book an Hour bookings are non-refundable once paid, so please check the date and details before paying. If you're unsure whether I can help, contact me first — I'll tell you honestly if it's not the right fit.
Can I send files or screenshots?
Yes. You can attach files — such as screenshots, error logs or documents — when you make your booking. They're stored securely and can only be accessed by you and me.
Do I need an account to book?
Yes. A free account is needed so I can send your booking confirmation and invoice to the right place. Registering takes less than a minute — click Register at the top of the page.
How do I choose a time?
When booking you choose a date only. The exact time — anywhere between 9am and 9pm — is arranged with you personally after booking, so it fits around you.
How far ahead can I book?
You can book up to 21 days ahead. There are a limited number of slots each day, so if a date can't be selected it's already fully booked.
Is the help remote or in person?
In most cases help is provided remotely. If you think your problem needs someone on site, please get in touch via the Contact page before booking.
What happens after my hour?
Once the work is done, the booking is marked complete and you'll receive an email containing:
- your original problem description
- my notes on what was done
- a secure download link to a report, if one was prepared
- a link to your account
What if my problem takes longer than an hour?
Some problems can't be fully fixed within an hour. If that happens, I'll give you a summary of the main issues found and what's needed to fix them — so you can book another hour, ask me for a quote, or take it elsewhere.
What is Book an Hour?
Book an Hour is a paid hour of one-to-one technical help — ideal for troubleshooting, configuration fixes and quick consultations.
You pick a date, describe the problem, pay the invoice, and I'll arrange an exact time with you. You can book from the Hire page.
What's the difference between Standard and Urgent?
Both give you the same one hour of help — the difference is how soon it happens:
- Standard — £35: needs at least 3 days' notice.
- Urgent — £50: available from the next day.
If it can wait a few days, Standard is the better value.
